01 overview
Storytäller is a school project created in collaboration with fellow students to celebrate the diverse people of Switzerland and their favorite dishes. The platform allows users to explore personal stories shared by individuals, where food becomes a gateway to understanding their lives and cultures. Each story highlights a unique dish, offering a glimpse into the person behind it. Users can also browse tales from others, discovering new dishes and perspectives along the way, fostering connection and cultural appreciation through storytelling and cuisine.
02 role and contribution
For the Storytäller project, my role was to turn the provided mockup into a fully functional web application. I focused on front-end development, implementing the design using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript while ensuring that the application was responsive across different devices. Throughout the project, I prioritized maintaining alignment with the mockup while ensuring the site was engaging and intuitive for users. My role also included enhancing interactivity and ensuring the visual elements translated seamlessly into a dynamic and polished user interface.

The development process for Storytäller following approach:
1. Starting with the Mockup: The provided design mockup served as a blueprint, guiding the structure and visual implementation of the platform. Each element was carefully translated into code to maintain fidelity to the original concept.
2. Performance Optimization: Since smooth performance is critical to user satisfaction, I optimized image assets, minimized JavaScript where necessary, and employed lazy-loading for images to enhance page load times.
3. Iterative Testing: The site underwent iterative testing during development to ensure it functioned correctly and looked great across devices. This included validating layouts on different screen sizes and debugging issues to deliver a polished final product.
By focusing on responsiveness, performance, and interactivity, I was able to deliver a robust and visually appealing platform that met both user and project goals.
